How it was...

Since being back we have had a lot of people asking us to sum up our journey and say how it all went...

So Rosie sat down and jotted down all the little things.

Hope you enjoy...

Simplicity

Making each day out of the moments, knowing each day must be filled with moments choosing to fill these moments,

Waking up in the woods far from anywhere,

The kaleidoscope of trees, never ending, surrounding,

Trying to fathom the vulture’s mindset

Hitting 40mph.

Being outside of myself

Focusing, letting go and pursing

Allowing the repetitive, dull, mundane become something more.

Pushing on through the rain,

The light at the end of a long tunnel,

Singing until you can’t remember the words

Hearing new sounds and marvelling at the boars angry grunts at five in the morning,

Watching the mountains disappear.

Uncovering new landscapes and having new eyes,

Forgetting how to be socially acceptable when going through civilised places.

Falling over... collapsing

Disbelief

Watching the shadows move inch by inch around your bike frame

Seeing how the sun makes the world awaken

Hearing the birds

To know the wind

To battle with the elements

To shout along with the thunder

Watching the road disappear

To be content with my weaknesses

Laughing at the little things

Losing all inhabitation

Learning to see problems as a chance to find solutions

To feel complete and utter exhaustion, tired and worn out

To speak to the part of you that wants to stop.

To remember

Finding that feeling that you have nothing left

Then going further than you’ve ever been,

Knowing it’s about turning up at the end together, whatever it takes!

Smelling the uniqueness of each valley and knowing the labour of love found in each field,

Watching the water change colour as you shower,

Not knowing where you will sleep,

Knowing no one can take this away from you

To be alive, with an uncontrollable sense of awe

Why me? What a privilege!!

To realise it wouldn’t make a difference to have trained harder the only thing pushing me on is inside,

Finding passion, knowing purpose, feeling peace

To feel small and weak, knowing fear,

Wanting the moment to last forever,

Making decisions and following them.

Realising that rain isn’t so bad, only the first few seconds,

Undoing the social laws, forgetting the rules,

Thinking the lorry drivers beeping is a polite gesture, no matter what, smiling and waving,

Knowing the effect of food, to feel hungry and need water,

Sheer delight at the sight of a convinient store.

To stand in the rain and laugh

To be ok with feeling like a fool

When storms close in, that feeling like standing at the foot of a big bear and looking up,

Wondering if the ruins where once filled with life,

Feeling insignificant

Air punching

To completely trust

Knowing pain is temporary

To have ambition

Just wanting to jump in

The views

Being on the edge

Laughing again!

Being sprayed from all directions,

Preparing yourself for the back wind from the lorry that just past, 1,2,3... hold on,

Knowing you would much rather ride than drive

Trying to find a convenient bush and holding on,

Looking for home for the night

Watching the deer’s, stealthily pass your tent.

Uncertainty

Slogging on to the end, then other days just flying

Rising with the clouds, through the clouds then out the clouds

Imagining the views, enjoying the clouds that cover them

Watching the world pass by

Knowing your not on your own

Jumping into unknown waters

Wringing out clothes.

Drifting along

Getting into a car at the end and feeling like a child again.

Cycling is a way of life at times it can be repetitive but its the moments in-between that make the journey what it is...

I ride my bike

I don’t see myself as a tourer

Just a simple mind

I pedal

Pedalo?

What a happy day, began by lighting the fire and watching the rain fall, leaving are little lodge behind! After breakfast with some lovely Spanish people and smiling at the fact that whole glass doors can shatter and collapse and all the owners do is have a chuckle and in there best English say 'how pretty', we ventured back up into the clouds. After a climb back onto the road, we experienced some of the best descent yet going from over 1000m to 300m, we were in awe, each corner brought a new sight, we couldn't help but express are elation through some well practiced biking dance moves! Eventually emerging from the clouds we found ourselves in Los Angeles for lunch, then covering a fair distance, at great speed and enjoying this last section of riding the sun came out, waterproofs off and then we saw it... the SEA! With lots of mixed emotions we continued nearing Gibralter, with the big rock in sight we were overwhelmed with excitement cheering and wooping at ever passer by, we couldn't contain our extreme happiness we were exploding! Having queued to cross the boarder, questioning whether or not we had to cycle on the other side of the road again, we got our passports stamped and then a great sight, familiar faces, Jonas and Angela greeting us with big smiles and waves! To finish the day we were so grateful for a lovely meal, celebration drink, lots of great conversation, sharing stories and just feeling normal again! Jj got to meet Casper very happy bear getting to sit and watch the football! Now for real beds and duvets, oh the luxury! A clean towel defiantly topped the day, along with the view of Morocco from the bedroom window.. oh and some monkeys! Africa here we come! Xxx

Drowned Rats

The last night before we hurtle into Gibralter, seems we have had another incredible day a real challenge both physically and mentally! Literally cycling into darkness this morning the clouds dark and fearsome, just exploded on us! Stopped by Ronda a real beautiful city, while coaches loaded full of tourists, filled the city with umbrellas, we stocked up and headed for the mountains; the darkness, the silence, the downpour, the cloud filled valleys, invisible roads, thunderstorms, roads that turned into rivers. We imagined the views as the clouds would give way momentarily, then surround us again we were in the heavens reaching over 1000m and feeling that as far as we could see in the cloud we could drop off the edge of the world! The skies didn't relent we weren't just soaked, we were roared at, lighting taking us by surprise, we obviously broke out into song and nothing could dampen are elation, if we were going to get wet we pretty much figured we might as well get drenched, that's exactly what happened! But once again we've been taken by surprise, camping was out of the question when a little lodge complete with a log fire was available, in beds tonight watching the elements across the valley, reflecting on the journey so far and adding more wood to the fire, Jj is drying his fur out! Let's see what tommorow holds Xxx

Wings to fly

Folded the map for the last time at dinner tonight!! Started the day with a cuppa tea and lots of toast, oh our sanity savers, a lovely British couple Marion and John, we shared stories and had a good chuckle with them, providing us with British flags to fly on our bikes- Jj is now sporting his own union jack cape. The wind today kept them flying but was a real challenge for us, such a battle even on the downs we had to remind each other we were actually going down! Tempted by train at station, instead we jumped on board the elle express, keeping in each others slick stream to reduce wind resistance! Ro busted out the harmonica playing tunes on the go, sharing her joy with the world! We have turned to red bull today, exhaustion kicking in we need wings and it works, ain't no stopping us! Saw lots of travellers on the road, man with trolley and hitchhiker, contemplated giving him a backy but he got a lift with his digery doo, shame we could have formed a band! Got lots of cheers, even a beep off the police- get in! Only 80km today, fairly chilled out morning taking life as it comes, still in high spirits very near Ronda- ah yeah, so close, it looks like Jj will get to meet Casper ( another friendly bear waiting for us in Gibralter) on Friday! 2 sleeps better get to it! Relentless!!

Aaaahhh what a crazy epic, relentless, exhausting, long, incredible day requiring much perseverance and determination, digging deep into our reserve energy and even beyond that, we hit the wall and carried on. It was beyond our own fathoming, what a feeling after 147km on the road 9 hours on the saddle, persistent wind and rain and a campsite that didn't exist, after pushing on past sunset! But what was amazing and why we are so happy right now, is we made it with the help of little bits of hope that came in many different forms- comments on blog, guys who gave us directions ( so enthusiastically they were on there hands and knees drawing on the ground!), thumbs up from other bikers, little old ladies, smiles, cheers, beeps, chocolate, singing in the rain whilst being sprayed by trucks, morale is high, air punching, blue skies, Monster drink, happy petrol station workers, oranges, stunning mountains ( like the ones you draw when you a kid but more rounded at the top), massive marching bands, happy people, frantic waving, UPS turning out to be downs, a sunset that gives you a glimpse of heaven, signs to campsite, open gate, warm showers and elation, hoping and pushing on together! Living verses existing- defiantly felt we lived today! Big thanks to you guys that are still reading... your part of our journey too! It's late, this is long, adios Xxx

Cotton fresh...

Lying here in awe of how clean we are, having wild camped and covered over 250km since are last shower it was very much appreciated... oh the little things! What a morning 66km covered, countless hills, seemed they just kept coming! Rnning low on water and no towns for miles, we were rewarded with a 15km downhill that just went on and on then a perfect view of a city sat on a hill over a river, very much looked like a shanty town, windows and shutters hanging out above each house like the city was built on top of itself. We doubted a supermarket but little boys with ice cream gave us hope, we were exuberant to find one at the top of a hill and a beautiful little park, were we spent much time crashed out by the benches. Giggled an awful lot, finding it hard to take anything seriously, seems exhaustion kicked in, having a strange effect on us! Running on empty, then crazy amounts of sugar meant a very hyper Ro (very dangerous!) Headed towards Corboda, found an amazing smelling campsite, (blossom trees everywhere) about 10km east, it seems everything is smelling good tonight! Contemplating life and making pictures out of clouds! Thanks for reading, we miss you guys xxx

If you go down to the woods... your sure of a big surprise!

Well we definately made up for yesterday covered 134km today including  three massive up hills they where epic, a lot of water loss we looked hot! So much life today, somealive but much of it road kill, one particularly long and straight road we were circled by many vultures, flip they are massive birds! So we are in an area called Serria Morina its absolutly stunning, especially as elle describes it, you can physically feel the roads as they go up, up and up, then you get to see the mountains below and not only that you get rewarded with an epic flying experience downhill! Spoke broke once again, roadside maintenance we are getting good, made lad skateboard into a bin, possibly because he was shocked at are appearance, we are honestly turning heads! Found camp for the night after a 950m mountain pass, just off the road in a massive pine forest, enjoyed the stillness watching the animals doing there own things around us, the red squirrels scurrying around and the deer stealthily moving through the woods, its beautiful! Social Outcasts

At the international campsite,we had set a challenge to talk at least one person and hear their story and share ours but the English people let us down, having headed of feeling rather weary, stopping of at a local superstore Ro managed to get chatting to a chap called Christopher, a writer on the road from Nigeria, selling the equivelant to the big issue seemed he wanted to buy one of our bikes we had to break it to himthey weren't for sale! Elle suprised Ro with our fav choc right now bonbom sport the amount of chocolate we are consuming is astronomical, but great on the road! It seems our stint on the motorway must have made it to the news even in the more remote towns we have been getting beeps and cheers- get in! Once again big mountains on the horizon, lots of lovely smells today, olive aroma was amazing! Legs going slow, covering only 86km, even some down hills where hard work today with the wind and the tiredness! Town called Mora for lunch, serious amounts of laughter, the locals must have thought we were crazy! Found an ideal spot for wild camping but seemed there was a party with ballons and everything, would have gate crashed if only we could speak Spanish, found our home for the night a few km on in a dissused field, lots of long green grass, feels like home! Nearing Ciad Real now, its just gone about 9pm and sleep is about to occur, very necessary!! Thanks for all the comments please keep it up it keeps us going, love you all xXxXx

Babies?

Wow that was epic, what a day we are unbelievably happy right now made it to Aranjuez about 45 miles south of Madrid covering 134km. Exhausted but overwhelmed, happiness can't describe it! Felt so alive, we were sailing up and down the hills, nothing was stopping us, canyons, lakes, rivers, huge bridges, tunnels we were flying, singing, just breathing it all in- although the several smelly trucks got us holding are breath for a while! Stoped at petrol stations for brekie and lunch, very much making ourselves,at home, visted a park lots of monkey swinging! Gorgeous sunny day again, both wearing are Jj tops, mostly peddling in awe couldn't beat it! So we arrived in the city at 7ish, we wernt sure how we would cope with the busyness and noise, haven't been in civilisation for a while. Too are over peddled legs a lack of campsite could have been hard to cope with, but after a lot of discerning a lovely Spanish man gave us hope with his enthusiastic hand gestured directions we rocked up in a 4 star campsite on the otherside of the city an hour later, a place to rest are weary heads, a warm shower again, pizza- oh yeah and lots of little children everywhere, its like being back at home and we love it! Hit my wall of tiredness, over and out! Xxx

Bodger and Badger!

What a fun packed day, we were rudely awoken by boars, flip they sound like scary animals thought we would sing Hakuna Matata if they approached, so singing voices out early! Puncture first thing, which made us aware of snapped spoke, them another puncture so after waking early didnt start peddling till 11.30! Wow just reLised we will have been on the road 2 weeks as of 2mo woo! Seriously incredibly stunning scenery today, astounding up, up, up then some of the best down hill weeeee's you cam imagine! Service station for lunch, Elles Spanglish enabled her to explain to the staff there what we are doing, they were very impressed! So washed in toilets, then flew on to far, far away down a real quiet road towards the river Rio Tajo, opening up into green expanses of water and lush vegetation it was like Jurassic park! Getting late looking for wild camp again but felt seriously blessed when the campsite that we really were hoping for appeared, so happy, in a little town called Sacedon, east of Madrid, both exhausted but got a very warm shower- which we needed considering a lady actually walked passed us yesterday and held a hankie up to her nose, so good to be clean! So dogs are barking all around, the moon is lighting up the tent, church bell chimimg, grasshoppers singing and we smell fresh! Tucked up and ready to reload are energy supply! Xxx

Sunrise to Sunset

You know you have been cycling to long in the day when your shadow manages to circle all the way around you! Woke up in the woods so cold there was ice, needed alpine gloves, covered 53km before stopping for a protein shake and our usual bread and cheese. Snow capped mountains to our right and desert land to our left, leaving sillouted mountains in the distance behind. Climbing a particularly spectacular hill, we had a fan club a group of 8 french roadies, they where a happy bunch with there Super U (we love super U) support van! Lots of amazing ups and downs, castles on hills and sheperds tending their sheep, we are loving that we can see this awe inspiring countries true culture from the seat of a bicycle. We managed to have a decent convo with a little old lady although she could only speak Spanish, she seemed so very proud of us! Wild camping again tonight look out for snakes, sunset was stunning, met an English touring couple yay! Jj has been in charge of the solar panel today, catching the rays! covered 120km nearing madrid, near a not so little town called Siguenza, will keep the wheels rolling but off to bed now! Adios Amigos xXx

When we're not sitting, we're eating!

Out of the clouds into the sunshine, woke up to a beautiful sunrise this morning, wind still blowing a hooly, blew us along a little bit but sideways winds taking there toll on us, bit scary, good for the masses of wind turbines that cover the landscape, along with solar panels ours can't compete! Covered a lot of distance early morning, enjoying looking over our shoulders admiring the mountains we had passed, we both get so excited at the brow of each hill, wondering what awaits ahead of us. We are feeling a little short changed with the cheese over here, missing French boulangeries although had olives this evening very happy! Elles saddle came off, too much bottom wiggling down those hills, we thinks. We knew we were doing well but when we hit knew Mexico we were a little suprised! Wilds camping tonight in some woods, lovely little spot we need  our sleep, covered 109km and lots of ups! Now just north of Soria near a little town called Noviercas, leaving the big mountains behind! Really appreciating the freedom and simplicty of the daily doings! Sleep :)

In the fast lane!

Definatly in Spain now, seems the locals aren't understanding our perfected french vocab! Please help us by commenting with useful Spanish phrases :) Met some walkers doing the Camino, whizzed off down into the valley, one incredible morning sang a lot as we flew through tunnels, Elle on such a high, punching the air and swinging legs around, perfecting her bike dancing. Each valley bought new suprises, there's so much open land, big mountains and towns buildt on hill sides, massive birds of prey dangerous to bikers when eyes are taken off the road! So we may have taken a wrong road today but turned out ok just meant we could go a little faster, hehe! Finished a little early, so as to stay in a campsite didn't fancy wild camping the wind is pretty impressive blew us along a little today! Ro had a little jamming session on  her harmonica with her own rendition of 'The road ahead' birds joined in! Just had the Spanish maps out, woah what a big country, best sleep need a big day tomorrow! In Olite tonight South of Pamplona, Let's hope we don't get blown south! Off to dream chow for now! xXx

Look up, THAT's where we're heading!

Hola! That's right, we're officially in Spain! We eventually left that restaurant at 30.30 for our quick easy ride across the boarder... haha...3hrs and 34km later we arrived at a destination. We just up and up today, literally up into the rain clouds! If only we could have seen, the views would have been sensational. JJ has had a bit of a different day, he was offered a meal by our French waiter as he was sat at the table with us then spent the afternoon enjoying the ride under her clear plastic bag raincoat. We were both fairly tired today but in fairly good spirits, laughing and singing up the windy steep roads which doubled back on themselves! :) We have to be honest we are treating ourselves this evening, we came across an olde worlde hostel so thanks to the Spanish phrasebook sorted ourselves with a room for the night woohoo!! A mattress has never felt so good! Adios :) xXx

We have had a real chilled out morning, being tourists in lycra, in this lovely little town! Having realised its Sunday we convinced ourselves its time to be civilised, no shops are open so steak/sausages and chips just seemed necessary! So its raining in the mounatains but we are happy a few km this afternoon then back to buisness tomorrow in the land of Espangol! We are going to cross the boarder, YAY :D xXx

I can see mountains!!! Saturday 09th April

Mountains, mountains, mountains waaahaaa exhaustion, extreme laughing at the very fact we have made it this far, standing in awe and almost in tears! Yes we are in the Pyrenees less than 5 miles from the Spansih boarder and the scenery is absolutely stunning, in a beautiful town called St Jean Pied du Port, where the stars are framed by a sky line we could never have imagined cycling to. Ro's African bottom dance almost happened but she's saving it for Africa! So we spent most of the day going up, really getting so use out of the gears, lots of wind in the valleys, eatne so much including three cakes oh yeah! So tired now, going to have a lie in and rest the bikes for the morning! xXx

Run free with the wild horses!!

Early start 6.15we were up, yeswe are keen - trying to beat the heat, got to 34 degrees today- toasty! MIles of pine forests again, which meant heat tunnels and green stuff its like a layering on everything. Ro got memorized by tree after tree, a kalidescope of light and shadows as we passed them! Extra protein stops today, elle thinks she might be slightly addicted to the vanilla powder we have a pint of milk every morning to make sure we get all the good stuff we need in us! Lots of bum wiggling, elle almost took off at one point as a tune on her ipod gave her wingsto fly! Super U superstores are amazing, we are regulars now! Jj is getting on well with the locals, especially small children! Seems when we don't use the cycle paths, women shout 'piste' at us- strange- especially when we don't want to go that way! Midges are feasting, extra defenition on the calfs! Campsite tonight is 4 star although we just rocked up, no one superior looking around so going to try and pay tomorrow, made it to Leon with superhuman strength- exhausted 130km today! Sleep now- let's hope we don't get kicked off hey! Night all, Jj already asleep! xXx

Long, long roads, flipping hot!!

So we have managed to successfully navigate from Plymouth to a little place called Ares south of Bordeaux on the coast but attempting to find our way around the campsite this evening proved a little tricky a French man on a bicycle helped us out thankfully! So showered again, the luxury, been a long hot day with lots of resting to our suprise we still covered 104km lots of long, straight roads through pine woods and lovely little cycle path for several km, Jj visted the beach this morning big crashing wave he loved it, visited town where elle took her first steps, had some french girls trying to join our adventure, watched whole market be dismantled whilst taking a rest and getting some shade. Had absolute feast for lunch included tomatoes and a very different cheese! Seem to have been getting almost sympathetic looks this evening. We think are apperance is just to much for people down here in the south of France! One very tanned man did compliment elles bike, we rode away fast, Ro went for it and wore clean shorts today although the padding doesnt appear to be having the desired effect, yes bum survival kit has come out! Thank you so much for the comments keep them coming they are keeping us going :) ! Dat's right!! xXx

I can see the sea :)

What an epic day its 11pm and we have litteraly just got into our sleeping bags.Been full of laughs, long unending roads, heat, lots of food including strawberries yay. So Jj made lots of friends he had people stopping to say hi if only our french was good enough to explain why he' with us! So we have decided we look damn hot in our daily attire, along with the tan lines (staceys mum) oh yeah! Ro became a human fly magnet after applying sunlotion generously, Elle almost broke down (in a good way) when we reached the ferry in Royan at 7pm, literally rocked up, rolled on and set sail! So we are in this little place called Surlac Sur Mer, we can hear waves crashing and lots of wild animals! after tea in the dark under a canvas of the stars, stunning! Covering 124km today, not including the ferry crosing Simon, we have come up with some signs to help communicate through some crazy cities eg Rochefort. Ro says happy forth birthday to Manni hope it was super fun! Been thinking of Chapmans today, Lydia was a big influence on our choice of Jeremaihs journey as the charity we are riding for and Russell will be proud of we did what you said and we treated ourselves to a wash this evening, oh yeah now we smell good! Sleep is very necessary now! Chow xXx

Labour of Love

Day four, map five seriuosly covered some distance today 126km brought us to this once again closed campsite so staying for free again woopee! A few busy stretches of red road today powered them because we are not a fan, crazy lorry drivers! We were most defo in France today, ro was so excited about vineyard after vineyard admiring the men pruning, what a labour of love! Sun, sun, sun now, Jj is now sporting a bikers tan as well as us, we are cool, we have choreographed some great moves on the bikes to amuse ourselves. Elle had lots of reminders of bournemouth, one little village name kinda looked like it said it and as we are finding it difficult to pronounce French signs we decided it did! Marie Carey whispering in elles ear (Ness your to blame). Passed though so many little quaint villages, each with a massive church in the middle, seriously blown away with the beauty of this whole place! Elle got tea then challenged ro to do the five litre challenge which she gladly accepted to the amusement of passers by caught on camera! Sleeptime now, exhausted... oh and we are now just north of la rochelle tweety birds outside again, but nothings going to stop us sleeping! Thanks for reading and all your comments, your support is keeping us going! Xxx

Tanned of just dirt?

Woke up to the most amazing sunrise and mist over the river one wild night. This evening on a campsite celebrating being alive and well after a few mishaps on the road all is well though we had mont blanc desert one of elles favourites. The day of lidls, elle purchased a little basket for her snacks oh the luxury, and we had a little wash in the shop toilets, lots of rolling hills and very straight roads, lots of crazy drivers, lots of jesus on the cross at pretty much every junction and the dreaded navigating through the outskirts of nantes oh what a palava, roundabout after roundabout. Lunch with a view, been tucking into lots of brie today. Jj may have nosedived into the road but we are taking care of him catchin the rays on the back of elles bike. By a lake tonight but not so wild, tried to blag some mattresses from the campsite owner but my french needs improving, plenty of time for that, just to the east, past Nates yippeee..... bon nuit :)

Having enjoyed the ups and downs of the 110km ride on ro's bike Jj has been helping us work out the plan for 2mo. What a day and for all mothers out there especially ours Kathy and Teresa, happy mothers day! In the words of Ghani 'there's two things you can give your children one is roots the other is wings' thanks for everything we wouldn't have got this far without you! Found our home for the night, full of birds singing wild camping in woods near melrand. Jj is very happy preached on elles bike all day taking in the sights, sounds and smells of the 133km he has covered. So the ferry crossing rocked elle to sleep whilst ro feeling rather sick sprawled out on the florr managed to become a tripping hazard. Rudely awoken by lights being turned on, boarders we know how you feel now ( big shout out to the girls who have raised lots of money for jj u stars :) ). Left roscoff 7.30 riding over 7 hours. Moral is high eyie, great first day and now the skies pink and purple sleep time me thinks, exhausted. Met the lovely photographer, Amy, from The Herald again yesterday, unfortunately Rosie was unable to join as she was busy with work. We met up down on the barbican outside The Souk restaurant. Louise from Jeremiah's Journey came down and Edmond, owner of The Souk restaurant was in the photos too. All Plymothians keep your eyes open for the article in The Herald soon!

Other news: Ive now had my bike serviced and fitted out with SPDs (clip in pedals) so hopefully I'll get used to them soon and maybe stop falling off my bike!!

Out!

Under 2 weeks to go!!

Under 2 weeks left until we depart...

Ideally we would both like to have done a little more training but this weekend was chocker block for both of us as we were out on Dartmoor all weekend. Rosie helped with 10 tors training and I was on a training course.

We had a fairly productive day today - checking out lots of bits and pieces online and looking further at our route.

We are having another 'photo shoot' next week at the Souk restaurant ... so keep your eyes peeled in the Herald for the results of that!!

Hope this sunshine sticks around - makes the workd a happy place :)

Model career calling?!?

Rosie and I are beginning to get used to life infront of the camera...

A lovely lady from Herald newspaper came down to Plymouth College on Wednesday to snap us with JJ and a bike. Keep your eyes out, we'll have an article in the Herald soon!

Also Matt (Souk to Souks personal trainer) got some photos and video footage of Rosie and I as we were out training yesterday in the amazing sunny weather... check them out in our 'photos' section.

Hope the sun is shining with all of you ;o)

Up and Riding!!

Finally Rosie and I made it out on the bikes together, I was very happy and proud to be taking my shiny new wheels for their first spin around the lovely sunny city of Plymouth. That was until I went head-first over the handle bars...hmm...im not too sure how it happened but luckily I cushioned the fall for my new bike, so there arnt too many scratches on the paintwork!! After a spot of confusion we back on and continued our ride, only a couple of bruises to show for it!

It was great to be out training together, definitely beginning to feel very real now ~ eeee!! :-)

stay dry, keep warm... and then you will be happy

Planned a bike matienance day with Ed (which Cogs is providing for free... you guys are great), havent meet him yet but going make sure we got all the knowledge we don't yet know on keeping are bikes in check... one day he may be are hero :-)

Then as I do, spoke to a random stranger... no longer random his name is Tom and he only went and cycled round Europe last year for 5 month's, was great to bump into him, had all the gear looked like he was a real adventurer. Picked his brain's over coffee about everything and anything we could possibly think... so we are going to venture over the Pyrenee's, more of an up, up, up and down then up down, up, down and the scenery we have decided cannot be missed... the thought he left us with was ' stay dry, keep warm' then we will be happy!! thanks Tom!!

More website work and networking, Sarah Dunn has offered lots of support and Steph Baker is on top of the publicity in term's of local paper, hopefuly will help the sponsorship role in... we can't do it without you all!!!

it's true... big leap, Elle's only gone and landed herself with two tyres, couple of pedal's, a seat, chain, hydralic brakes (uh.. huh) and a couple of COGS... yes the good people at Cogs bike shop have helped Elle sort a pretty essential item on her shopping list... this makes us, especially Elle very happy, her excitment was uncontrallable!!
