Drowned Rats

The last night before we hurtle into Gibralter, seems we have had another incredible day a real challenge both physically and mentally! Literally cycling into darkness this morning the clouds dark and fearsome, just exploded on us! Stopped by Ronda a real beautiful city, while coaches loaded full of tourists, filled the city with umbrellas, we stocked up and headed for the mountains; the darkness, the silence, the downpour, the cloud filled valleys, invisible roads, thunderstorms, roads that turned into rivers. We imagined the views as the clouds would give way momentarily, then surround us again we were in the heavens reaching over 1000m and feeling that as far as we could see in the cloud we could drop off the edge of the world! The skies didn't relent we weren't just soaked, we were roared at, lighting taking us by surprise, we obviously broke out into song and nothing could dampen are elation, if we were going to get wet we pretty much figured we might as well get drenched, that's exactly what happened! But once again we've been taken by surprise, camping was out of the question when a little lodge complete with a log fire was available, in beds tonight watching the elements across the valley, reflecting on the journey so far and adding more wood to the fire, Jj is drying his fur out! Let's see what tommorow holds Xxx
